Hi Masha, As you have mentioned, scholars have categorized recruitment methods as internal and external for the purpose of simplicity. Internal recruitment is the process that companies adopt to provide carrier advancement opportunities to existing employees. Therefore the organization invites employees for interviews using internal communication channels. In External recruitment, priority is given to outside sources like other organizations and fresh graduates irrespective of the vacancy type ( Mohamed, 2020).
ReplyDeleteHi Masha, Recruitment and selection are important operation is human resource management, since the further direction of the organization is depends on employees who work for the organization. Therefor organization is required to follow appropriate selection processes, the reason being, if the selection is not carried out in an appropriate manner, then it would impose unfavorable effects upon the organization and loss would be incurred to the employer in terms of money, time and efforts (Kapor,2018)
ReplyDeleteI agree with your comment Neel.Though the Process can be costly and time consuming, companies must ensure they follow a detailed and organized hiring process in order to avoid unnecessary costs and avoid potential legal ramifications due to discrimination (Leanard,2019).

ReplyDeleteWell explained, Recruitment and selection are important operations in human resource management, since the future direction of the organization is depends on the employee who work for the organization. Therefore organization is required to follow appropriate selection processes. If the selection is not carried out in an appropriate manner, then it would impose unfavorable effects upon the organization and loss would be incurred to the employer in terms of money, time and efforts (Kapur,2018)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the input Larry. Lievens and Chapman (2010) also suggest that the lack of appropriate recruitment process followed by selection affects the deterioration of the bottom lines of the company. This means that there is a direct impact of the HRM process to the success of the business which is why your point has to be considered with great concern.
DeleteWell explained Masha. Barbar (1998) indicates that there are two important phases of the
ReplyDeleterecruitment processes that are very essential for good recruitment and selection processes. First, is to attract large numbers of applicants and the second is the ability of Human Resource Divisions to make the best selections out of the total applicants (Barbar, 1998). Therefore recruitment process is effective if it brings enough pool of applicants to make the selection process more accurate.
Thank you for the input Isuri. Adding to your point, Recruitment is the process of discovering or selecting and hiring or best qualified candidate from inside or the process by which organizations locate and attract individuals to fill job vacancies. (Anwar & Surarchith, 2015).
DeleteWell explained Masha. I agree with the fact that hiring the right candidate is the most significant aspect of the recruitment process. The processes adopted by organizations should assist in selecting the most ideal candidate for the position. As per the nature of the business, the stages might vary from one business to another.
ReplyDeleteI agreed with you Nimashi. At the analysis and design stage of the selection process
Deleteorganizations should be able to identify whether or not an individual currently working within the organization would be able to meet the requirements of the new position or if an individual external to the organization would be more appropriate (Anwar, 2017). So, analysis and design stage is very important in this process.
Hi Masha
ReplyDeleteInternet job boards (Internet sites that allow organizations to upload their vacancies and candidates to upload their CVs), Internet data mining (the process of using Boolean Searches) and web crawlers (programmed that continually search the web for information about employees) (Nikolaou, 2014; Parez, Silva, Harvey & Bosco, 2013; Sinha & Thaly, 2013)
So how Sri Lankan organizations adopt above recruitment process for employee selection?
Hi Masha, The recruitment process includes examining the necessities of work, drawing employee to that occupation, screening and selecting candidates, contracting, and coordinating the new employee to the association (Khan & Abdullah, 2019). Also, the HR department responsible to find the right person or best qualified candidate for the post an organization needs (Othman et al. 2019).
ReplyDeleteHi Masha! Well explained the recruitment and selection. The recruitment is the process of
ReplyDeleteidentifying and attracting potential candidates from within and outside an organization to begin evaluating them for future employment, selection begins when the right caliber of candidates areidentified (Walker, 2009).
